Soul Mate has another steller review

Bitten by Books has given Soul Mate 4 1/2 tombstones!

After becoming a werewolf, Kari Pearce lives a very lonely life. Fearful of rejection, she hides her “affliction” from everyone, even her sister, and she constantly guards her heart. However, she is able to accept and make the best of it. Her wolfish senses are magnified in comparison to normal humans, which help her become an exceptional private investigator. Thus, it is not surprising that she saves a child from an abductor and helps the police catch the perp.

FBI agent Nick Murdock comes to the Sequoias due to the kidnapping case. When he sees Kari, she immediately touches his heart as no woman ever had before. She is an enigma to him, and being a good FBI agent, he plans to get to the bottom of it. After all, her secret is keeping them apart.

For a novella, Soul Mate delivers a knock-out punch. The plot is well-thought out, and from the very first page, I was caught up in the story. Kari’s situation definitely touched my heart. She turns a bad experience into something she can use for good. Certainly a perfect heroine! And how can you not like Nick? His relentless pursuit of Kari makes him an ideal partner for her. I truly enjoyed this novella, and I am pretty sure you will, too.

Ponder and Post

I've been lacking in my blog dept. lately... But I've noticed that I'm not alone.

I realize that this time of year... rainy, quiet and lacking of all things Holiday, is a great time to buckle down and crack out some new material. However, if you've stumbled upon this post today... tell us, what are you working on? Have you stuck to your New Years Goals? Or are they yesterdays news?

Is your WIP moving the way you'd like? Do you have a new release you're gearing up for?
What great books have you read in front of the fire this month.

In short... What 'sup?

Midnight Treat by Becca Simone

Midnight Treat by Becca Simone

There are debuts and then there are debuts…. Ms. Simone has a wonderful fantasy rush to HEA in Midnight Treat. Zorro… Meet… Marie…

Josh knows exactly how to get what he wants at a costume party – After a brief encounter with Marie Antoinette, Josh, Zorro, climbs a fire escape and smack dab into his future. He fulfills a fantasy of Miss. Marie only to find he’s with the wrong woman… Or is he?

Ms. Simone… I do hope you write quickly, my friend… This was a difficult to put down until I was finished with then entire story. I connected with your characters from the first page. This wasn’t erotic romance… it was HOT romance. Really hot, wet, ROMANCE.

It isn't what you make... it's how you spend it.

It isn't what you make, but how you spend it.

Have you ever heard this before? I know that many people made new year goals to trim the budget and keep their financial house in order in the coming year. This blog was designed with this goal in mind.

Today... I looked out my window to a rare rainy day... *see picture above* and after seeing the weather report for the next week I realized I'm going to have the opportunity to complete all kinds of 'rainy day' projects. I found my stack of coupons and thought it was time to weed through my stash and pull out all those 09 explorations. Then I realized that I'd been a bit lack on my coupons over the last several month. With two boys, nearly 14 and 11 who eat like small grazing animals on a farm, its high time I started keeping on top of my grocery savings.

Oh... yes! I'm one of those! STOP... Don't stop reading... because contrary to popular belief, saving big time cash at the grocery store isn't a time consuming job. I spend maybe 20 min cutting coupons every week and only 20 min printing out my list and getting ready for the store.

I only use coupons from my local Sunday Times. I don't receive the mailers from the stores and I seldom print coupons... I alphabetize my coupons by brand name and this saves a lot of time. This is how I shop.

http://www.thegrocerygame.com/

I found Teri's list several years ago. The first year I did this I wrote down how much money I saved. I found it almost a challenge to get half my groceries for free. In one year I saved over $6,000 dollars. That isn't a joke and I don't own stock in the above website. I even had a Thanksgiving Dinner at my home for 20 people and spent only $50 on the meal. Most of that was wine. lol

Lets round up my time spent on the coupon game to one hour a week. With 52 weeks in the year and a savings of 6K... that is $115 of savings for that hour. So yeah... it's worth it. My day job doesn't pay $115 per hour. Does yours? Think of all the great books you could buy...

Binding Vows - 4.75 Stars

Binding Vows has it's first review from a review site:

Here is what they said -

Cathryn Bybee brings together past and future holding them together with magic and romance and just a small touch of comedy in Binding Vows. The story was full of all things that I love action, romance, history and the knight in shining armor saving the damsel in distress bit. Bybee makes everything work together smoothly with a wonderful story anyone would love.

The entire review contains spoilers so I won't post all of it here.

Review of First Date by Lynne Roberts

Unrequited love, er, lust… is very powerful. Real estate agent, Jill Daniels remembers many things about Bret Jacobs, especially the fantasies evoked after walking in on him and his high school lover all those years ago. Armed with stiletto heals and an adult appetite, Jill is determined not to let Bret slip through pages of her life again.

Ms. Roberts reminds us of our young loves and wistful fantasies from our youth with First Date. First Date is tastefully erotic with racing hot love scenes that will keep you turning pages.

And the award goes to...

Hollywood isn't the only place giving awards out this time of year. Preditors and Editors Reader polls are now open for voting. It's time to give the P&E site your two cents on who's books you've enjoyed and which authors made you smile throughout the year. They have categories for just about everything. So take the time and look over the nominees. If you don't see someone there that you feel deserves to be, add in your nomination.

I've found my name in two of the categories this year, which both humbles and flatters me.

Binding Vows is up for best romance novel. Click HERE for the link.

And I've been added as a nominee for Author published in 2009. Click HERE for that link.

I'm simply happy to see my name in the polls. Vote however you like, but vote. These polls need participation in order to work.

Goals 2010

Goals! What are yours? Have you committed to them in more than just your mind? Have you written them down?

This year I'm going to make a dent in shifting the time I'm online. And limiting it. I love all of you, but in order for manuscripts to be written, I need to make certain words are being placed on paper... or in this case, on my computer.

My kids are very distracting when home from school, so the days they're under my feet, I'll do my online work. When they're at school... time to concentrate on new work and edits.

What are your goals?
