Goals for the next 2 1/2 months

I don't know about you... but I'm one of those people who fall into way too many stereotypes in the months of November and December.

I tend to put off my shopping and find myself looking for something on the 23rd of December. My Christmas cards seem to go out later than I'd like, the wrapping is waited until the final week... and... can you say Christmas cookies? Or, do you know what it's like to step on the scale on Jan 1st and cringe?

So, from this day forward... I'm going to try and buy two gifts a week... And wrap them.

I'm going to make my cards early and get them in the mail by December 1st.

And... I'm not going to gain any weight between now and Jan 1st. - That doesn't mean I won't fluctuate, but I'm going to give it my all to keep the pounds that make the gyms and weight loss centers money, off during the holidays.

So, who's with me?

Are you in?

What are your goals?

Love the pic, Catherine! Those boys would be good incentive for lots of things...

Yep - have to focus this year. No more last minute rush stress. Enough. Stop the madness.

Goal-wise, though - think I can finish up the latest WIP by year's end? Maybe?

I certainly hope so. I'd hate to have to wait until after the holidays to hear the ending!

Sweetie,

You just gave me my holiday gift... now if only I could figure out a way to unwrap it.. ; )

I tend to get all my Christmas shopping done early because, well, I really don't enjoy shopping. I'm hoping to have edits on my short done and well underway on the novella.

Every year I swear I am going to wrap as I buy but I never do. You will find me two days before Christmas shut up in a room wrapping like mad. I usually skip the bows, ribbons, etc. because I do not have enough time. My 11 y/o doesn't care if the package looks pretty, he just wants what is inside.

I have the same goal as you in regards to weight. My problem is white chocolate milkshakes at Steak 'n Shake. Those things call my name as I drive by.

Maybe this year I will wrap as I buy, not gain weight and not stress out. If I get one out of three, I will be making progress.

I've been thinking about Christmas. We don't have kids, which makes the gift buying a lot easier. I'm going to do some baking for gifts. I enjoy it and it's easier than battling crowds. I'm with you on the weight gain thing. I'm working on that already!

One week before Thanksgiving and I'm good. Down two pounds since I posted this... and I have 4 (small) presents bought. I'm on a roll....
