I have to laugh...

Some of you know that I'm writing another full length time travel... and because I love the MacCoinnichs so much, I thought I'd go ahead and write Simon's book. While the plot twists in my head and I spin things on the page, I laugh every time I start to write, "Simon said." I mean... hello! As an author I've been told that a reader doesn't see the word said in a book. I can agree with this to a point, but with a my hero's name being Simon, I'm guessing my reader is gonna laugh quite a bit if I say "Simon said" too often.

Your thoughts?

Now: Before the Moon Rises:

After a twelve-hour shift in a busy emergency room, Janet O’Brien is beat. Her last patient arrives unconscious and naked. She’s lead to believe he’s a psyche patient off his meds. However, once he awakens, Janet is charmed by his million-dollar smile and agrees to give him a ride home.

Werewolf, Max Ritter notices the sassy nurse when he wakes after a night under the full moon. Unfortunately, his archrival is drawn to Janet as well. In order to keep her out of harm's way, he opts to keep her close. When the chemistry between them sparks, Max discovers a completely new reason to keep Janet safe.

Excerpt:

Alone with her patient, Janet removed the catheter kit from the supply cabinet and placed it on the bed. She closed the curtain to insure privacy. Not that he would complain; he was still completely out.

She tossed back the covers and took the time to dress the man in a hospital gown. The stranger was built. Tan, muscular and good lord his package was something to be reckoned with. Janet didn’t make a habit out of really noticing her patients ‘packages’, in fact, she couldn’t remember ever really looking before. Okay, maybe she looked, but she never ogled. This man was well worth ogling.

Embarrassed over where her eyes landed, she opened the Foley catheter kit and prepared to insert the tube to collect his urine. Good thing he’s out. She’d hate to be caught staring at the man’s assets. How unprofessional.

Gloved up, she lifted his penis and lubed the end of the catheter tubing. Out of habit she murmured, “This is going to hurt you, more than me.”

A strong voice from the top of the bed stopped her mid stride. “Don’t you think I should know your name first?”

Shocked, Janet let out a little shriek. Her grip tightened on the man’s penis, her eyes shot up to his face. Deep blue eyes swirled and sparkled with a hidden smile, yet his lips remained in a thin line.

She opened her mouth to speak but no words came.

“Well?” he asked, his voice thick and drawn out.

“The doctor needs a urine sample,” Janet blurted.

John Doe’s eyes traveled to his private parts.

In that second, Janet felt his penis twitch and start to harden.

“Oh, God!"

Grab a chair...

Congrats to Sandra Stixrude on her release Marya.

I'll interview Sandra at a later date. For now, read the blurb and watch her trailer.

Is this a beautiful cover or what?

Know he will succeed when all others fail you…so reads the fateful letter of introduction which heralds the beginning of Marya's desperate journey.

When the Ktar chooses Marya to watch over the heir on his confirmation journey, she has no illusions about a pleasant trip. A prophecy concerning the heir's death, ominous dreams of a mysterious city, and the certainty one of the heir's companions will betray him all weigh heavily on her.

Unfortunately, the discovery of the assassin in their midst is only the beginning. His menace pales in comparison to the ancient evil lurking in the mountain city. When Marya and her party are trapped and the men with her enslaved, she is forced into a battle of wills and hearts with two remaining choices: give in to the alien being who offers her power and prestige, or join forces with the same handsome assassin she sought to thwart. Lives are at stake and so are her heart and her honor - how can she choose?

Release Day for Angel Martinez

I just wanted to scream out Happy Release Day to my friend and critique partner Angel Martinez.

Her short companion Christmas story for Finn is up and for sale at Red Rose Publishing.

Finn's Christmas is a fantasy m/m romance. I usually get the honor of reading Angels stuff before it hits the publisher, but last summer I was in The Big Rolling Turd when she hammered this short story out... so I haven't had the pleasure of reading it. But I did pick up my copy and look forward to taking it in.

Male/Male romance is a fascinating genre for me. Unfortunately, the romance world labels all these books as erotic and IMHO many are simply romance, no real erotic elements in play.

Here is the trailer to titillate your taste buds.
