Book Signing Photos

My very first book signing brought in friends and fans and even a local author. This first picture is of my good friends, Sharon, Miah ( the owner of Trendsetters ) the show room in which my book signing took place. My fabulous outfit was donated by Miah from her wonderful line of clothing.

Karen Kay aka Gen Bailey, author of Seneca Surrender lives about forty minutes away and met me via Facebook. In the middle of her busy schedule she took the time to stop by and talk a little shop. It's nice to meet local authors, and one who writes romance is an even bigger thrill.

Social networking is a wonderful thing. Here is Tammy, a lovely woman who had already read Binding Vows and heard of my book signing via Goodreads and drove two hours to drop in and have me sign a book. What a thrill! And don't look at my thighs in this picture... lol. They are not really mine, they're a cruel joke my family played on me at birth. *snort.

And once again, Miah... and I. Can you believe we are both in 4 inch heals.
I had a wonderful time and met lots of great people and signed more books than I thought I would.
For you authors out there... tell me, what do you write inside those books you sign? 'Cuz I gotta tell ya, I wasn't sure what to write half the time.

Fabulous! It looks like you had a grand time, Catherine!

Boy. You're tall. Or everyone else was short. Or something.

I've yet to have my first book-signing, though I will have to sign a copy of Finn for someone after I have a winner on 5/2. I guess I always assumed you'd ask the person what they wanted...

Great pictures, Catherine! Glad you had such a great first signing, and you look wonderful. :)

I find it's easier to think of what to write for strangers because there's not the added pressure of a family member thinking, "Oh, that's not very personal." Or one sister reading what I wrote in the other sister's book and saying, "How come I didn't get that???" Then there's my lovely mom and aunts and cousins who buy every new release and I don't want to write the same exact thing in each book but I can't remember what I wrote the last time. Yikes!

So...what did you end up writing? I could use ideas, too.

I tend to go with: Happy Reading! or Enjoy the book! And for the Christmas anthology, when it's close to Christmas: Merry Christmas, or when it's not: May the spirit of Christmas be with you all year long.

Hi Catherine. This is lovely! I never thought to put together a blog about my book signings. How neat!!

I hope you sold a ton of books. I also find it easier to write something for someone I don't know. I usually put: Thanks for your support or enjoy (my main character's) journey. May you have many, many more successful book signings. I enjoy doing them :)

Sandra: I'm 5'9" but Miah... the tiny woman in the pics 'made' me wear 4 inch heals. "You have long legs, you need to show them off." She's amazing... and I did feel all girly in them. And the best part... I didn't break an ankle. LOL

Stacey: I agree... the family/friend thing is a bit more...

I wrote down things like: Follow your dreams. Never stop dreaming... I guess 'cuz this first print book is a dream come true for me.

Mickey: Oh, good, now I have even more ideas on what to write inside the cover! Thanks

Wow, that's so cool that you got to meet Karen Kay. Congrats on your books signing. Sounds like it was very successful.
I never know what to write in books either and I'm not very imaginitvie. I usually say 'enjoy the read. Thanks'

It's a strange thing to 'not know what to say.' considering we write the entire book. *snort.

Wow! Looking good, girl! Congrats, congrats, and congrats! This is just the first of many!

I too often wonder what to write, and usually put in something like, "I hope you like (hero) and (heroine)'s story."

Cheers!
