Author Dayana Knight

Today I have a very special guest and fellow Wild Rose Press author, Dayana Knight. Dayana and I have so very much in common it's almost scary. We lean toward the darker side of the garden with shapeshifters and spicy love scenes. She's celebrating her release of Bestial Cravings.

Thanks for joining us today, Dayana.

Tell us about your new book out now:

Bestial Cravings is a stand alone companion, short story contained within the Roma Wolf Tales Series. It also acts as an introduction to some new characters that will appear in Book II of the series.

Blurb:
Vesta Johns has everything going for her—except her health. Desperate to find the answers to her lethargy and her insatiable desire for raw meat and sex, she seeks out the help of her doctor, but Dr. Cohen can give her no answers.
Or can she?
Torrence Simiene is a medical consultant with a unique specialization. As an alpha werewolf, it’s been his job to aid Dr. Cohen’s distinctive patients through their transition from human to shifter, for years. This time, however, it’s different. Vesta arouses his primal lust, and he’s having a hard time keeping her at a distance.
Will the doctor’s plan of care offer the ultimate cure for Tor and Vesta’s bestial cravings , or further drive them apart?

Teaser:

He smiled and turned to her. “Do I make you uncomfortable?”

“No. It’s just…well…it’s more the opposite, really.” She gave him a sexy, little, side glance. “It’s like I belong with you. Like I’ve been waiting for you. But in the same token, the feeling makes me question it.” She stared into the empty hearth for a long minute.

Tor wondered if she would say anything else. His lust for her became increasingly more uncomfortable by the minute, and he needed to get away from her but he also needed to taste her lips just once before he left, though deep down he knew once wouldn’t be enough.

How do you respond when someone says... "Oh, you write THAT kind of book?"

I enjoy writing sensual/erotic stories. Erotic or Sensual Romance is not smut. They are spicy romances filled with emotional imagery. Romance is love and love ultimately moves toward sex with any healthy romantic relationship. So why would I not encompass all within my stories? Everyone has fantasies. And fantasy is wonderful honest fodder that brings stories alive and perhaps bring a common denominator to the reader. Emotional connections make for more fulfillment and excitement trajectory toward that HEA, at least in my opinion.

What are your goals as a writer?

Ultimately to share my stories with anyone interested in reading them. I would love to someday be on the New York Best Seller list but if that never happens, I'm happy to keep putting pieces of myself out there in my work. Hey, a movie deal might be nice too, but honestly I am not writing to get rich, though I wouldn't turn my back on fame or fortune, LOL I feel fortunate that there are pub houses out there that are interested in my work.

I find that each new project is a learning experience. I am amazed at how much my writing improves the longer I pursue my craft. We are always learning and applying new technique.

How many books do you read a month?

I'd say at least 4 or 5 depending on length. Are they all romance? Mostly but I read craft help or self-improvement and history as well. Writers must always do research so much of my time is spent reading informational stuff as well.

Do you have anything new in the works?

Yes, I have a crime suspense that I had pubbed under a different penname I recently pulled from the pub house and am revising for redistribution with another publishing house not yet decided along with a sequel in the works for that. And I am currently working on Book Two of my Roma Wolf Tales Series. For those who are not familiar with my RWT Series, Curse of the Marhime is Book One and now available.
I also have some interesting erotic theme stories dancing around in my head that I will pen to paper and get submitted:)

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for popping in. And thank you, Catherine, for having me.

I just got home from work--the day job--so please bear with me. Is that the right 'bear'? LOL Or should I have used the naked one? Bare? hehehehe Where's an editor when you need one? *grin*

Anyway, you guys are a wonderful support system. I appreciate all your well-wishes and your purchases!

Now, I have an offer for all of you. I would love to have any or all of you drop by my blog and gab, do a formal interview, or just PR your own projects. Please don't be shy. Just contact me at gothscribegirl@aol.com and we'll get you set up for a guest blog date.

Catherine, have I ever told you how much I appreciate you? I do.

This craft encompasses a small circle of friends and we seem to jump in there whenever necessary to help each out. That is what it is all about, isn't it?

Oh and Mary, thank you for that booksigning plug! Mary is organizing yet another wonderful multi-author booksigning this time at a wonderful little restaurant called Cracker Barrel. If you remember our last one was at a quaint Tea House in West Palm Beach. It was quite a success.

Best,
Dayana
